Why This Article Was Written
We use MX Linux based on experience, so when I wanted to use Windscribe there was an error message after installing the latest DEB application for Windscribe. After investigating it turned out that the latest version of Windscribe uses systemd, so on MX Linux to be able to install Windsribe then use the old version. Here is the error:
E: The package windscribe needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.
The solution is that we forcibly delete the apt source list, then we delete Windscribr, the command is simply the following:
sudo dpkg --remove --force-all windscribe
sudo rm -i /var/lib/dpkg/info/windscribe.*
sudo dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq windscribe
sudo apt update

Because MX Linux does not use systemd by default and we will install it without enabling systemd. The trick is to choose the old version of the installer even though it is End of Life (EOL) but can still be used. Just do it:
- Visit the Windscribe site , then select version v1.4.51
- You will get a DEB file ready to install, we have also saved it to share with you, please get Windscribe v1.4.51

For the first time running Windscribe, please login by writing in the Terminal:
windscribe login
Enter your username and password, if you don’t have one, please register on the Windscribe website.
Next is to run WIndscribe with the default country location:
windscribe connect
To run Windscribe with a specific country location, please write the city name label of a country at the end of the command, for example I will connect using a VPN with the Empire country location, New York so I write the command as:
windscribe connect empire
How do we know the name of the country, it’s easy to just type this command (but login first, because we can’t see the server location before logging in):

Review Windscribe di Linux
After installing Windscribe, the next step is the user experience review process. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a networking technology that uses a public network such as the Internet to provide remote users or devices with the ability to access the network remotely. With Windscribe, you can use public networks to connect to private networks, such as your company network. If you want to use a VPN to protect your data, then go for a premium VPN service. These services make it harder for your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see what you are doing on the Internet. There are many free VPN services available. However, they are not necessarily safe.
